1. Sleeping; as, a dormant animal; hence, not in action or
exercise; quiescent; at rest; in abeyance; not disclosed,
asserted, or insisted on; as, dormant passions; dormant
claims or titles.

2. (Her.) In a sleeping posture; as, a lion dormant; --
